Welcome to Day 1 of the next phase of Educationbridges

Tagged:

Educationbridges is a project that was first conceived in December of 2005 as a venue for discussions surrounding education and communities. It has grown from there to become a company and is currently waiting to hear on it's 501(c)3 status to become a non-profit. The first phase of our current development will be to ensure the long term viability of Edtechtalk.com, a website devoted to discussions around the intersection of education, technology and pedagogy. We are among the throng of people who have applied for the Macarthur grant, and, if we are successful, we will be using those funds to help support the work done at Edtechtalk.

There are a number of skills and lessons that we have learned over the past two years, some of which are currently being used to help us develop a sustainable community here at educationbridges. Over the next few months we will be having meetings directed at solidifying the procedures we will be following in terms of finding partners to work with on a variety of educational projects. We would like to, eventually, fill a key role as independent, unbiased advisors on educational technology projects around the world and occasional partners on projects that particularly intersect with our vision and existing skill set.

We look forward to talking to folks about this when we are ready. In the interim, I encourage people who are interested in the work being done at Edtechtalk to go and post messages at that website. If you are particularly interested in Educationbridges, I encourage you to visit our forums and post there or email us by clicking on my name at the top of this post and 'sending a message.'
